Celestial Botany – Take your seats!

A styled shoot at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds.

This styled shoot has to be my favorite so far. The use of metallic tones, soft and architectural foliage and flurries of stars created essentially what I imagine a Elysian glasshouse to be. The beautifully restored Theatre Royal provides a really unique wedding venue – see link below!

Stylist, Tina of Ambience Venue Styling Suffolk, and florist, Jo at VV Raven, incorporated oodles of glass and metallic details alongside a mixture of fresh orchids, faux ferns and dried alliums. The variation in texture and form in these makes the table tactile and inviting – it would certainly stop guests in their tracks and provoke curiosity. The chairs were dressed with opulent navy taffeta that coordinated with the table linen. I particularly love the golden chandeliers teaming with ferns –  this really makes the most of the great ceiling height that the theatre provides.

The table stationary, signage and table plan were created by Opps a Doodle. The hand-lettered place-cards are detailed with golden constellations that are just gorgeous! All gold on navy, they really added to the overall celestial feel of this shoot.  These colours were echoed in the cake crafted by Beautiful Tiers, adding yet more wonderful tone and texture to the overall look.

Bridal make-up was styled by the magical Victoria Bradfield who created this dramatic smokey eye with added sparkle for the second look. Stacey Goodwin created two  bridal hair looks that were just stunning, incorporating some beautiful celestial hair pins by Miss Clemmie.

The two bridal gowns were provided and selected by the award winning House of Snow bridal boutique in Bury St Edmunds. The first gown is Hathor by Watters W.too and the second, Cosmic by Jenny Packham. These two gowns give two completely different looks, both complementing the unique atmosphere of the theatre.

I think some of my favourite overall shots have to be those that show the magnificent auditorium in all of it’s regency splendour. What a fantastic place for illuminated letters!

Huge thanks to our beautiful model, Chloe. You were an absolute dream to shoot and made us all envious of those cheekbones!

This shoot was so much fun. I hope you all love these shots as much as we all do!
